Protected Gold Plano Mirror, 650nm-20.0μm
Borofloat 33 is a premium borosilicate glass with low thermal expansion and excellent thermal shock resistance, serving as an ideal substrate for various optical reflector applications. UV-grade fused silica (UVFS) is a synthetic amorphous silica with ultra-high purity, boasting maximum transmittance in the 185–2100 nm wavelength range, extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, and superior optical performance.
Tuniu offers gold film flat mirrors—with or without protective layers—fabricated on both Borofloat 33 and UVFS substrates. Mirrors with a protective layer feature a silicon dioxide dielectric overcoat on the gold-plated substrate, effectively preventing metal oxidation and extending service life.
Borofloat 33-based mirrors are ideal for reflection applications spanning near-infrared to far-infrared bands, delivering an average reflectivity of >96% at 650–1700 nm and >98% at 1.7–20.0 μm. UVFS-based mirrors offer an average reflectivity of >96% across the 650 nm–20.0 μm range.
Precautions
Due to the special nature of metal films, prolonged exposure to air, high humidity, or corrosive chemical gases may cause oxidation, affecting performance. This product is classified as a consumable. To ensure optimal use and service life, please follow these storage and handling guidelines:
- Maintain a clean, dry environment before use.
- Wear gloves during operation to avoid direct contact with the mirror surface.
- Prevent mechanical damage (scratches and abrasions will accelerate oxidation and coating delamination).
- Seal and store in the provided protective box when not in temporary use.
