Metallic Hollow Roof Prism Mirrors, 450nm-20.0μm
Tuniu’s hollow retroreflector consists of two right-angle prisms mounted on a rectangular substrate. The hypotenuse surfaces are coated with protected silver, and the two prisms form a precise dihedral angle of 90° ± 10 arcseconds. This assembly reflects beams incident on the prism surfaces; when light is normal to the edge formed by the two hypotenuses, it produces a 180° retroreflection. The prism features protected silver coating with a silicon dioxide dielectric layer to inhibit oxidation.
While this coating safeguards the silver film, the component is not intended for high-temperature or high-humidity environments, as harsh conditions may degrade the protective layer and cause oxidation. The broadband coating delivers exceptional reflectivity across infrared, visible, and near-infrared spectra: average reflectance exceeds 97.5% from 450 nm to 2000 nm and greater than 96% from 2 μm to 20 μm. With low intrinsic group delay dispersion (GDD) over its operating range, it is ideally suited for beam steering in femtosecond laser systems.
Note: The metallic coating is sensitive to prolonged air exposure, high humidity, and corrosive fumes, which may cause oxidation and performance degradation. This product is considered a consumable item. To ensure performance and service life, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Maintain a clean and dry environment during handling and operation.
- Wear gloves to avoid direct contact with optical surfaces.
- Prevent physical damage such as scratches or abrasions, which accelerate oxidation and delamination.
- When not in use, store the component sealed in its protective case.
