Barium Fluoride(BaF₂) Windows
Barium Fluoride (BaF₂) Windows are high-precision plane-parallel optical plates, commonly used as protective windows for electronic sensors and environmental detection devices. Critical selection parameters include substrate material, spectral transmittance, transmission wavelength range, surface figure, surface quality and parallelism tolerance to match different optical system requirements.
BaF₂ is a premium infrared optical material with high transmittance across the 2–8 μm spectral range. Its properties are similar to calcium fluoride, featuring superior resistance to high-energy radiation. However, barium fluoride exhibits weaker moisture resistance and requires proper protection against humid working environments.
