Acousto-Optic Tunable Filters (AOTF) are solid-state, electronically controllable optical bandpass filters with random-access wavelength selection. When acoustic and optical waves meet specific phase-matching conditions, efficient diffraction takes place, enabling rapid and dynamic selection of target wavelengths from a broad spectrum.
We offer high-performance AOTF products based on TeO₂ slow shear wave design, optimized for various wavelength bands to satisfy a wide range of application needs. These devices operate over a wavelength range of 400–1450 nm, with spectral resolution as fine as 0.25 nm and an effective aperture up to 10 mm. In our AOTF modules, incident and diffracted light exhibit orthogonal polarization. Under broadband illumination, two orthogonally polarized ±1st-order diffracted beams are generated, which can be flexibly used or coupled into optical fibers according to system requirements.
Our product portfolio includes both non-collinear and quasi-collinear AOTF configurations, both supporting fast wavelength tuning. Non-collinear AOTFs feature a wide incident angular aperture, making them well-suited for spectral imaging and analysis. Quasi-collinear AOTFs deliver ultra-high spectral resolution, ideal for femtosecond pulse compression systems.
To achieve the best overall performance, we recommend operating our AOTFs with our dedicated RF drivers, which support single-channel and multi-channel wavelength output.
