H9L Non-Polarizing Beamsplitter Cube
Different from energy splitting components, the non-polarizing beam splitter prism (NPBS) divides incident light into transmitted and reflected beams at a specified splitting ratio without altering the original polarization state. The polarization-insensitive performance is achieved via the dielectric beam-splitting coating on the inclined interface.
Compared with beam splitter plates, the prism features equal optical path for reflected and transmitted light. It produces no beam displacement during transmission, and eliminates the issues of beam shift, ghost images and interference. It should be noted that NPBS adopts metal-induced beam-splitting coating, which maintains the polarization state of output light consistent with incident light. Meanwhile, it introduces slight light absorption (typically less than 10%). Therefore, it is not recommended for high-power laser applications.
- Hybrid coating design, <10% absorption
- Split ratio not sensitive to polarization of the incident beam
