UV Fused Silica Drum Lenses, Uncoated/AR250-450nm
UV Fused Silica Drum Lenses feature spherical ends that form positioning surfaces along the optical axis. Fabricated by peripheral grinding of spherical lenses, they allow easy clamping and mounting, and are well suited for optical transmission in optical communication systems.
Compared with ordinary convex lenses, drum lenses deliver shorter focal length and higher magnification, with the focal length determined by the refractive index of the material.
Compared with K9 optical glass, UV fused silica offers a broader spectral transmission range of 185nm–2.1μm and outstanding transmittance in the ultraviolet band. It also possesses lower refractive index, superior optical homogeneity, smaller thermal expansion coefficient, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low fluorescence. Widely used for manufacturing various optical components, fused silica is the ideal material for ultraviolet optical applications.
