The front surface of the plate beamsplitters are coated with a beam splitting coating, and the rear surface is usually coated with AR coating to reduce the interference of beams and ghosting. The plate beamsplitters are lightweight and economical in price.
Note: This series is intended for unpolarized light splitting only. For intensity splitting of polarized light (partially polarized, linearly polarized, circularly polarized, elliptically polarized), use depolarizing beam-splitting prisms.
