Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂) Plano Convex (PCX) Lenses are high-performance optical lenses substrate-machined from premium calcium fluoride material. CaF₂ features an extremely broad transmission spectrum covering 180 nm to 8.0 μm, high laser damage threshold, low fluorescence and excellent optical homogeneity. Although relatively soft and prone to surface scratches, this material is widely used for laser collimation and serves as an ideal substrate for various precision optical components.
Featuring a positive focal length with one flat surface and one convex surface, CaF₂ PCX lenses converge incident light into a precise focal spot and are ideal for aiming and focusing monochromatic light sources. For optimal optical performance, the convex side should face the incoming light beam. When combined with other optical lenses, these CaF₂ plano convex lenses support versatile applications including beam shaping, collimation, expansion and beam compression.
