Low Power Linear Polarizer, 400-700nm
This polarizer is fabricated by bonding dichroic material between two glass substrates. When natural light passes through, one orthogonal polarization component is strongly absorbed while the other is transmitted with low loss.
It is widely used to convert natural light into linearly polarized light with high polarization purity. Compared with polarization prisms, it features a larger acceptable incident angle and can be manufactured with large clear aperture. However, it is not suitable for high-power laser applications.
