90° Protected Gold Off-Axis Parabolic Mirrors, 800nm-20.0μm
An off-axis parabolic (OAP) reflector intercepts a segment of a full parabolic surface, featuring variable off-axis angles across its aperture.
Tuniu’s 90° off-axis parabolic reflectors are coated with gold film overlaid by a silicon dioxide protective layer. Capable of beam collimation and focusing, they deliver outstanding reflectivity across the spectral range of 800 nm to 20.0 μm. With superior optical performance from near-infrared (NIR) to far-infrared (FIR), they are widely applied in infrared systems including FLIR and FTIR. The outer silica protective layer effectively prevents the gold film from deliquescence and peeling under high humidity, stabilizing the reflector’s optical performance.
With surface roughness better than 100 Å, standard diameters of 12.7 mm, 25.4 mm and 50.8 mm are offered, corresponding to reflective focal length ranges of 6.35–152.4 mm, 12.7–152.4 mm and 50.8–2032 mm respectively.
Precautions
The metallic coating is susceptible to oxidation when exposed to ambient air for prolonged periods, high humidity, or chemically corrosive atmospheres, which may degrade optical performance. This product is categorized as a consumable. To ensure optimal performance and service life, please comply with the handling and storage guidelines below:
- Store and use the product in a clean, dry environment.
- Always wear gloves during operation to avoid direct contact with the reflective surface.
- Prevent surface damage; scratches and abrasions will accelerate oxidation and coating delamination.
- Seal and store the reflector in the original protective case when not in use.
