Economy Plano-convex(Round) Cylindrical Lenses, Uncoated/AR250-450nm
UV fused silica plano-convex cylindrical lenses feature one plano surface and one convex cylindrical surface with a positive focal length. They are widely used to focus parallel or diverging beams into a line, or to adjust the aspect ratio of images.
Tuniu Optics plano-convex cylindrical lenses are ideal for one-dimensional magnification applications. Spherical lenses affect incident light symmetrically in two orthogonal directions, whereas cylindrical lenses only refract light in a single direction. A typical application is distorted beam shaping with a pair of cylindrical lenses. Two plano-convex cylindrical lenses can collimate and circularize the output beam of laser diodes. A single cylindrical lens can also focus diverging light onto a detector array. To minimize spherical aberration, collimated light should enter the curved surface when focusing the beam into a line; when collimating a linear light source, the light should illuminate the plano surface of the lens.
Compared with H-K9L optical glass, UV fused silica offers a broader transmission spectrum ranging from 185 nm to 2.1 μm and provides high transmittance in the ultraviolet band. It features a lower refractive index, superior optical homogeneity, and a smaller coefficient of thermal expansion. Additionally, it delivers better chemical resistance and extremely low fluorescence, making it suitable for manufacturing a wide range of optical components.
