H-K9L Plano-convex(Round) Cylindrical Lenses, Uncoated/AR400-1650nm
Tuniu Optics H-K9L plano-convex cylindrical lenses consist of one plano surface and one convex cylindrical surface with a positive focal length. They are commonly used to focus parallel or diverging light beams into a line and adjust the aspect ratio of images.
Plano-convex cylindrical lenses are ideal for one-dimensional magnification applications. Spherical lenses act symmetrically on incident light in two orthogonal directions, while cylindrical lenses refract light only in one direction. A typical application is beam shaping for distorted laser beams using a pair of cylindrical lenses. Two plano-convex cylindrical lenses can collimate and circularize the output beam of laser diodes. A single cylindrical lens can also focus diverging light onto a detector array.
To minimize spherical aberration, the collimated beam should enter the convex curved surface when focusing into a line; when collimating a linear light source, the light should incident on the plano side of the lens.
H-K9L is one of the most widely used optical glasses for high-quality optical components. It is the preferred material when the special advantages of UV fused silica — such as excellent transmittance in the ultraviolet range and a low thermal expansion coefficient — are not required.
